I worked my first wedding in 2013 as a makeup artist and since then have had the adventure and joy of working hundreds of weddings as a wedding photographer, videographer, makeup artist, and updo artist.
I've photographed maternity and newborn sessions since 2016 and became a mom myself in 2024. I LOVE love and talking weddings and motherhood with anyone who lets me- that's where my blog comes in.

Located side by side on the Hamilton Mountain, C Hotel by Carmen’s and Carmen’s Event Centre make it really easy to keep your entire wedding day in one place.
As a Hamilton wedding photographer, that is one of the things I love most about them. You can get ready at C Hotel, have your ceremony and reception at either property depending on the size and style of your wedding, and have accommodations right there at the end of the night.
The two spaces feel very different from each other, which is also great from a photography perspective.

Even though they sit beside each other and are part of the same overall wedding experience, they are not exactly the same venue.
C Hotel by Carmen’s is the more intimate, modern option. It offers two wedding spaces, including the rooftop lounge, and works especially well for smaller weddings, cocktail hours and evening celebrations.
Carmen’s Event Centre is the larger venue, with three ballrooms that can also be combined, a grand foyer, private wedding suites and the Venetian Terrace.
For ceremonies, couples can have an indoor setup inside the ballroom, and weddings booked in the Venetian Ballroom also have access to the adjoining Venetian Terrace for an outdoor ceremony in warmer weather.
The biggest advantage is how simple the day can feel.
You are not spending hours travelling between getting-ready locations, portrait spots, ceremony spaces and the reception. That gives us more time for the parts of the day that actually matter.
From a Hamilton wedding photography perspective, there is also a lot of variety close together. We can use the hotel rooms and interiors, the rooftop, Carmen’s marble foyer, the ballroom spaces and the outdoor areas without needing to leave the property.
That makes it easy to create a gallery that feels varied without turning your wedding into one long photo session.

The rooftop is probably my favourite part of C Hotel.
It works beautifully for cocktail hour and sunset portraits, especially when we can sneak away for ten or fifteen minutes later in the day when the light softens.
The hotel has clean, modern interiors and darker finishes that work really well for getting-ready photos and more polished portraits.
The marble foyer and staircase give you a much more classic look than the hotel.

It is especially useful for wedding party photos and portraits if the weather is not cooperating.
If your wedding is in the Venetian Ballroom, the terrace gives you an outdoor ceremony and portrait option without having to leave the venue.

This is one of those venue combinations I would seriously consider if convenience is high on your priority list.
Carmen’s offers full-service wedding packages with catering, décor and planning support, while C Hotel gives you accommodations immediately next door.
That makes things easier for couples, wedding parties and out-of-town guests, and it also keeps the whole day feeling much more relaxed.
This is a great fit for couples who want:

If you’re planning your wedding at C Hotel by Carmen’s or Carmen’s Event Centre, I would love to help you build a photography timeline that makes the most of everything available onsite.
I photograph weddings throughout Hamilton, Ancaster, Dundas, Burlington and the surrounding area with a focus on candid storytelling and natural portraits.
For me, the biggest benefit of a venue like this is simple: you do not have to disappear from your wedding for hours to get beautiful photos. With so many different spaces in one place, we can create a lot of variety and still get you back to actually enjoying your day.
